Do you want to live a life that’s enjoyable and full of purpose? Would you like to be seen as the person who always smiles and seems to have it all?

You can be. And, it’s not hard if you know what to do. Here’s five ways to live a life that has you feeling so complete, you’ll wonder if it gets any better than this:

Help Others. Giving others a little bit of your time and effort leaves you feeling amazing! When you help someone and then get to see the smile on their face because you made them a priority, it is a feeling that cannot be paralleled. The great thing is that it doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, either. It can be as simple as helping an elderly person with some light housecleaning, buying a homeless person a burger and fries or donating your old clothes to charity. Every little thing you do helps. Just ask the recipient of your act.

Give Thanks. If you focus on what you don’t have, you’re robbing yourself of any chance of ever achieving happiness and prosperity in life. Maybe you don’t make a fortune but, do you earn enough to pay the bills? Perhaps your back often hurts, but are you dealing with a debilitating disease like cancer? If you concentrate on where you feel limited, you magnify that your life lacks, and there’s nothing positive about that. However, if you’re thankful for all of the things you do have, you create an attitude of abundance which is a pleasant state of mind. A wise friend once said, “If you only had tomorrow what you were thankful for today, what would you have?” Well?

Meditate. To live a great life and achieve your greatest desires, you have to be in touch with yourself. You must know what and how you feel on as many levels as possible. And, you have to take care of your body. You need to provide it with the best chemical make-up possible to help you in life’s journey. Meditation does both of these. It allows you to connect with your deepest thoughts and it changes your brain and body chemicals in a manner that improves your overall well-being. Not sleeping well? Meditation helps. Feel forgetful or slightly moody? Yep. It helps with that too.

Work Hard. While we all dream about inheriting a huge fortune from an unknown family member or winning the lottery, it’s the things you had to work hard for that bring you the most pride and enjoyment. They are your trophies; your proof that you can achieve great things. So, don’t be afraid to put time and effort into something that’s important to you. The positive feelings you get once you’ve accomplished it will be directly proportional to the amount of effort you used to make it a reality.

Have Faith. If you want more out of life than you feel you have right now, you have to believe that you’ll get it. Sometimes it’s easy to just give up on yourself ever achieving happiness because you can’t see how it will become a reality. But, just because you can’t see the end doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. Like walking in the dark, with every step you can see further. Enjoy the journey and know that every step forward will put you exactly where you’re meant to be at that moment. Have faith that it will all work out, and it will.
