How to Grow Spiritually; Six Easy Steps

how to grow spiritually

The human mind is constantly evolving and developing, becoming more in harmony with the world, fellow minds and ultimately the universe. Everybody is continually going through an evolutionary process. It is a natural process, one that cannot be chosen or cast aside at will. People can, however, choose to take steps to take their journey down the spiritual path at a faster pace.

There are six easy strategies to show you how to grow spiritually:

1. Energize Your Chakras

The chakras are the doorways to entering deeper spiritual spheres. Getting in tune with the chakras is vital for achieving pure vision, clarity, and heightened perception. Energy is raised, which increases the senses, allowing you to look beyond the limitations of the immediate world around you.

You will become able to rise above the human ego, whilst ridding yourself of fears and self-imposed restraints. You must have a willingness to let go of material wants and desires, and stop living a life that is based on modern day illusions.

2. Meditate

Meditation is defined in many different ways. Most definitions agree on certain features, including consciousness, awareness, voluntary surrender, letting go of negativity, anxiety, stress and other destructive thoughts and feelings, and an expansion of the mind and self.

Meditation helps to increase spiritual awareness by bringing the powers of the unconscious mind into the conscious mind. It is a surrender of the mind, rather than a struggle to control the mind. Meditation is not a quest to quieten the mind, but instead a gentle release of distractions and disturbances to tap into inner calm and peace. It allows for an inner search and discovery, enabling outward change.

Try and meditate regularly, although do not try and spend impossibly long periods of time in a meditative state. Explore different methods; it is a very individual process, and may take some fine-tuning before finding the perfect way for you.

3. Be Self-Aware

Look at personal growth; consider how to feel personally fulfilled and satisfied. Do not dwell on mistakes, but instead learn from them and turn them around to provide the opportunity to advance and develop as a person.

Be honest, both with yourself and with those around you. Act with integrity and humility, and do not be afraid to acknowledge areas where you may be weaker. Identifying weak spots allows you to improve.

Do not become bogged down with problems. Rise above them and seek realistic solutions. Do not hold onto negative feelings and tensions unnecessarily.

Keep a diary of thoughts and feelings to help you track highs and lows, progress and moments of discouragement. Use this as a tool to guide you on your journey and reflect upon your spiritual self.

4. Love Your Body

Treat your outer self well. Eat healthily exercise regularly. Avoid toxins, and allow your body to get adequate rest and relaxation. Not only does the body need rest for regeneration and energy, but also allows time for emotional calmness and reflection.

5. Volunteer

Learn how to treat people, animals and the world with compassion, sincerity and respect. Also, be grateful for what you have in your life, rather than lamenting that which you perceive to be lacking.

Do voluntary work. Helping others is a fantastic way to contribute to society and make a positive impact within the wider community. People often find that they learn more about themselves whilst giving to others. It can make you feel more valuable, with a greater sense of purpose.

6. Learn

Broaden your knowledge on spiritual matters. With greater understanding comes greater growth. Read widely. Discussing thoughts and experiences can be very beneficial. Spend time with like-minded friends, or within groups such as a spiritual center or meditation group.

By following these 6 simple steps, you should soon realize your desires to live a more spiritual existence.
